About the Bosch Universal Plus Stand Mixer
OUR RATING
The Bosch Universal Plus Stand Mixer isn’t your average stand mixer. This mixer and its unique design are for the experienced baker looking to make their job in the kitchen easier.
This mixer is made to be ergonomic so it’s easier on your hands and arms while using it.
It’s made of heavy-duty, durable stainless steel that is tough and resists damage. This mixer should last you a very long time.
One of the great things about this product is the belt-driven transmission which delivers major power. The motor has 800 watts of power and is able to mix large quantities of dough at one time.
Instead of the motor being overhead like most stand mixers, this motor is inside the base so it doesn’t have that top-heavy feel that some mixers do.
The rotary switch on the front of the base switch not only lets you turn the machine on and off but it lets you choose between four mixing speeds. Plus, it has a momentary pulse option that’s super useful.
This mixer has dual beaters with triple whipping action so it can tackle even the toughest of dough mixes. Keep in mind that these beaters are attached to the middle of the mixing bowl which can sometimes cause a mess if you don't use the splash shield.
The dough hook mimics the way we knead dough by hand. It folds, stretches, and tucks the dough, exactly like you would without a machine and is able to knead up to 14 pounds of dough. This improves the release of gluten in your dough and makes for fluffier bread.
There are suction cups on the feet for stability. This ensures that your mixer doesn’t wobble around the countertop while mixing or leave any marks, no matter how much dough is being worked.
Included with Bosch’s stand mixer are a stainless steel bowl (6.5 quarts), wire whips with plastic whip drives, a dough hook, and a two-piece pouring shield and lid.
These accessories are all dishwasher safe, making it easier for you during clean up.
Disadvantages
There are barely any disadvantages to this mixing machine if you’re a serious baker.
The only real complaint from buyers is that, despite the fact that the attachments are dishwasher safe, they’re hard to clean. There are hard to get spots that a dishwasher just can’t get clean due to the way the accessories are designed.
Our rating: 4.5 stars out of 5
