Sunbeam is a popular home appliance brand that’s been in business for over 100 years. It offers a range of high-quality, easy-to-use products, one of which is their bread makers. While Sunbeam doesn’t have a huge selection of bread makers, the option they do offer perform well and are great products overall. The 2lb bread maker is a good choice as it is loaded with great features like time-delayed cooking, express bake, and a gluten-free setting. There are numerous recipes that work well with this machine, offering variety beyond bread.

One of the main things to note as you begin exploring Sunbeam bread machine recipes is that regular oven-baked recipes do not work in a bread maker. Bread machines work differently with ingredients when compared to oven recipes. That said, the options are endless when it comes to what you can make. Whether you want to make bread, pizza dough, rolls, or desserts, Sunbeam bread machines can make it all happen.

Sunbeam Bread Machine Recipe for White Bread

There is nothing better than traditional warm, soft, white bread. Whether you like it with butter, jam, or as a sponge to wipe up the gravy on your plate, it's even better when it’s homemade.

Ingredients

  •  1 ½ cup warm water
  • 2 ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup bread flour
  • ¼ tsp of baking soda
  • 2 tsp bread machine yeast – you can use rapid or instant
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 ½ tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

Bread Prep

  • Set up the machine to make bread. Make sure the kneading arm is installed.
  • Sunbeam suggests liquids first for bread recipes so put in the wet ingredients first followed by dry ingredients, saving the bread machine yeast. The yeast goes in last. Poke a hole in the dry ingredients and place yeast inside it. Don’t let the yeast touch the liquids.
  • Put on the setting you want to use. If it’s an express bake, add an extra ½ teaspoon of yeast. If regular bake, then 2 teaspoons are fine.
  • Choose medium crust.
  • Once it is done, take it out of the pan and allow it to cool on a rack.

Tip for bread: Check your machine after a few minutes of kneading. If the dough is stiff, then add a little water and start again. Do this until the dough seems appropriately soft. You can do the opposite if the dough seems too wet. Add flour in tiny amounts until the dough becomes soft, not sticky.

Sunbeam Bread Machine Recipe for Pizza Dough

Homemade pizza is a treat but making the dough certainly isn’t. Using a Sunbeam bread maker takes the mess out of it. This recipe makes enough for two 12” pizzas but you can always freeze what you don’t need. There are some great variations for the crust, too.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup water
  • 1 ½ tbsp vegetable oil (or olive oil)
  • 3 ¾ cup bread flour
  • 1 tbsp + 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ tsp active dry yeast
  • List Element
  • Add liquid ingredients first then dry ingredients, keeping yeast separate. Yeast is added last and is placed in a hole created in the dry ingredients.
  • Choose the dough cycle.
  • Close lid and press start.
  • Once the dough cycle has finished, remove dough and roll out to fit the pizza pans, keeping a 1” edge.
  • Brush with oil and let crust rise for 10-15 minutes.
  • Add tomato sauce and toppings.
  • Bake at 400⁰F for 25-25 min. Adjust time to when the crust is brown and cheese is bubbly.

Pizza Dough Tips

  • To freeze pizza dough, put it in the bread maker and allow it to rise on the dough cycle. Once risen, divide into portions you would like, coat with oil, and put it in a freezer bag. Squeeze out as much air as possible and then place it in the freezer. The dough can be frozen up to 3 months. To defrost, leave it in the fridge overnight then take it out of the bag and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.

Changing it Up! Pizza Dough Variations

  • Basil Dough – Add 2 tsp of dried basil leaf to dry ingredients
  • Whole Wheat Dough – Use 1 cup of whole wheat flour in place of bread flour
  • Herb/Parmesan Dough – Add ¼ cup parmesan and 1 tsp Italian herb to dry mix
  • Garlic Dough – Crush and mince 3 garlic cloves and add to the machine with oil
