Old Fashioned White Bread

Old Fashioned White Bread

This recipe makes 1 and a half pound loaf of bread.

  • 3 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of sea salt
  • 2 teaspoons of yeast
  • 3 tablespoons of softened butter at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup of canola oil
  • 1 cup of lukewarm water
  1. 1
First, add the butter, canola oil, and water to the bread machine.
  2. 2
Next, add the flour, sugar, and sea salt. Create a little bowl in the flour and fill that bowl with the yeast. This keeps it out of direct contact from the water so it doesn’t get activated right away.
  3. 3
Select your bread machine’s “White Bread” setting. Make sure to check in on the bread dough after a few minutes of mixing. If it’s too sticky, add a dash of flour until it’s the right consistency. If it’s too dry, add a teaspoon of water at a time until it’s the right consistency.
  4. 4
Once your bread is done baking, let it cool for at least an hour before serving.
