No-Knead Bread Dutch Oven Recipe
We know you’ll love this awesome no-knead bread Dutch oven recipe. It’s one of our absolute favorites for those lazy days we want fresh bread with dinner. It’s super easy to make, all you need besides the ingredients are a conventional oven and a Dutch oven.
Overall, this bread takes a long time to make but most of that is spent letting the dough sit and rise. While it’s rising, feel free to run errands or do what you need to do.
This recipe makes one loaf of no-knead bread. Each bread has about 12 servings or 12 slices, each about 115 calories.
- 1In a large mixing bowl, add the all-purpose flour, sea salt, garlic powder, and dry yeast. Whisk the ingredients until they’re thoroughly combined.
- 2Once the dry ingredients are mixed, add warm water to the mixing bowl. Keep stirring the mix and add in the fresh rosemary. The dough should be super sticky and wet in appearance. Make sure there’s no additional flour stuck to the side of the mixing bowl. If there is, just scrap it with the spatula and stir it into the dough.
- 3Cover your mixing bowl with saran wrap. Let it sit in a warm environment for anywhere for 8 to 12 hours, depending on your needs and how fast it grows. You know it’s ready when it’s doubled its original size and is covered in tiny bubbles. This is the yeast getting to work.
- 4Once your dough has risen and you’re ready to bake, preheat your oven to 450 degrees.
- 5Place the Dutch oven inside your conventional oven once it’s preheated. Your Dutch oven should be empty. This is just to warm it up. Let it sit in the oven for 30 minutes.
- 6While you’re waiting, it’s time to work the dough. On a floured surface, punch the dough so it’s flat and roll it into a ball. It helps if you sprinkle the dough and your hands with a bit of flour, too. Let your dough sit for half an hour.
- 7After half an hour, remove the Dutch oven from the conventional oven and flour the bottom so your bread dough doesn’t stick to it. Place the bread dough inside the Dutch oven and cover.
- 8Put the Dutch oven back in the heated oven. Let it bake for half an hour.
- 9After 30 minutes, remove the lid to the Dutch oven and let it bake for an additional 15 minutes. The bread should be a nice golden brown. Tap the bread and if it makes a hollow sound, it’s done.
- 10Remove the Dutch oven. The bread should be easy to remove. Set it on a sanitized surface and let cool before serving.
